The Peninsular Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (CEPHCIS) of UNAM located in the city of Merida, Yucatan, would like to invite you to the Spanish Immersion Course Yucatan 2025.
PRESENTATION
The Spanish Immersion Program of the Peninsular Center for Humanities and Social Sciences of the UNAM (CEPHCIS) has as its objective that you practice Spanish in an environment of total immersion. For three weeks, you will have the opportunity to improve your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Spanish, live in one of the most beautiful and safest cities in Mexico, visit the natural wonders of this region, learn about Mexican culture, visit Mayan archaeological sites and learn about different aspects of this ancient culture.

With 20 years of presence in the Yucatan Peninsula, CEPHCIS is a research center in Humanities and Social Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, a reference in the academic field. DATES
In 2025, we offer the opportunity to participate in the Program in 3 different periods:

● August
● November
REQUIREMENTS
● Be at least 18 years old.
● Have intermediate or advanced knowledge/level of Spanish.
● Have major medical insurance with coverage in Mexico.
● Take a Spanish language placement test (to be administered remotely from CEPHCIS UNAM).
● Make the corresponding payment.
● Complete the registration process.
FEES
● Option 1: with homestay accommodation: $2,500 USD
● Option 2: without accommodation: $1,500 USD.
INCLUDES:
● Welcome and induction day.
● Spanish classroom classes
● Mexican and Mayan culture classroom classes with UNAM professors and researchers.
Basic notions of Mayan language with native teacher.
● 3 practical Spanish classes(transportation)
● 3 field trips to Chichén Itzá, Uxmal and Cenotes (transportation, you would be able to
take the Mayan Train, and meals).
● Document certifying the completion of the course with qualification.
REFUND POLICY
1. If the course is cancelled by CEPHCIS UNAM, there fund will be 100%.
2. There will be no refund after the registration date.
REGISTRATION PROCESS

2. Take the placement test
3. Make the down payment for the Program ($100 USD) and send proof of payment
and proof of major medical insurance to the following e-mail address:
idiomas@cephcis.unam.mx on the dates indicated.
4. When you arrive in Merida you must pay the total amount of the Program.
